Every Friday night at midnight I made chocolate chip cookies. Curfew was 12:30 and walking into a kitchen with the warm aroma of melted chocolate, and a waiting bowl of cookie dough was too much for a teenage boy to resist. It was a delicious way to start a conversation!
How do you connect with these men nowdays? I find it mind boggling that I gave birth to three thirty year old men.
ReplyDeleteGenius. Will be stealing this one.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering how many times you've won mother of the year? What an excellent idea.
ReplyDeleteseriously, i don't think i could stay up that late anymore. isn't there a chocolate chip cookie candle i could light, placed by a notepad reading "i'm glad you made it home safely and assume you made good choices tonight." ??
ReplyDeleteBrilliant idea and I love the comments before me, too.
ReplyDeleteI think I overuse the word 'genius' on this blog, but there really is no better word. I'm filing this away for future use.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, you've shown more strength than I ever could. "Wake me up when you get home." "Wake me up when you are leaving for seminary."
ReplyDeleteOma,
ReplyDeleteI again enjoyed my visit with your life.
Love,
Grammy T.
Brilliant.
ReplyDeleteMine are only 9 and 10. I alternate driving one to school every day and wait with the other at the bus stop. I find even that 10 minutes every other day is priceless. :)
Pure Genius! With 3 teenage boys *right now* I can easily say I will be adapting this idea into my own home. Love it! Can't wait to see what other gems you share.
ReplyDeleteI waited up but with no freshly baked cookies. That is a great idea and one that I will pass on to the next generation.
ReplyDeleteBless your mothering heart! I will implement this immediately. Genius. Chocolately genius.
ReplyDeleteI popped over from Stie's blog and you now have a faithful reader :)
Fabulous, fabulous idea. I will remember this one.
