B.O.= A constant High School Friend

Sher shared a lot with me: her car, her cabin, her cats, and her crushes. I knew she was in love with C.O and she knew I was in love with K.O. They were cousins. There was a third zero involved, and his name was B.O. (Really. And yes he was teased.)

K.O. was interested in me in an on again/off again kind of way. He was 17, and I was a mere 15, cute enough but annoying. B.O. was his younger brother, 16, and he and I had long involved talks about how I could become the love of K.'s life. B.O. was in love with Sher, so in return I gave him advice on how to win her heart. Our long talks often ended with a little kissing on the side. Hey...K. wasn't interested, and B. and I both needed practice.

I knew Sher had the same kind of talks with B. about how she could get C. to ask her out. (He was our age, and his parents were strict and didn't approve of girlfriends.) Her long talks with B. involved a little kissing, too. (Don't deny it, Sher. He told me.) During this time B. had an official girlfriend named Judy. Looking back, it seems like he had a pretty good gig, especially for a guy named B.O.

One night Sher and I went over to the high school to see a play. B. was there, with K. and C. He waved us over to sit with them. We both sat by our respective true loves, with B. in the middle between us girls. All of us had our arms folded. About half way through the play B.'s hand began searching for mine. What was going on?? We held hands secretly underneath our elbows for the rest of the night. I couldn't believe it. Here K. was totally oblivious to me, but his brother seemed to like me. Maybe B.O was my true love after all!

After the play, when Sher and I were walking home, she confessed, "I think I like B. now. We held hands through the whole play." He was holding her hand on the other side! (Was he the original player?) So now Sher and I shared everything. With more to come...

(Stay tuned for further adventures with B.O....)

I have erased most of those kinds of memories from my mental databank. Those O boys were a lot of fun!!! I'll be looking forward to more just keep up the code names.
